Well, I’m back from vacation and obviously have yet to post my newspaper industry business plan idea that’s so radical, it could be considered radocal. (Idea for future post: The unpredictability of the iPhone spellchecker). There are two reasons for this: 1. Virgin America airlines offers in-flight satellite television in addition to wireless Internet, so I was distracted by college football on my flight home and 2. The business plan is being revised into an idea for journalists, not newspapers.
Until I get the details worked out, the plan is on hold. Hopefully it will be posted later this week.
Meanwhile, I’ve been pushing and following two new hashtags on Twitter – #firedick and #firedicknow. The hashtags show support for the firing of Buffalo Bills Coach Dick Jauron, whose general ineptitude and lack of leadership that culminated with the team’s 6-3 loss to the hapless and otherwise winless Cleveland Browns yesterday.
Both #firedick and #firedicknow are picking up steam quickly and again proving how a hashtag organized around a specific issue can help generate discussion in a community. Check ‘em out.
