Ian Hill is the community engagement specialist for KQEDnews.org in San Francisco, where he manages outreach for news content through social media and other online sources. Ian’s duties also include marketing KQED News through events and public relations.
Previously he worked as a Web content producer and editor for the San Joaquin Media Group in Stockton, Calif., where he shot video, helped to maintain Recordnet.com and created online interactive features. He led The Record’s efforts to increase user generated content, serving as the inaugural editor of myRecord, The Record’s first UGC online and print feature.
Ian also is the founder and editor of 209Vibe.com, a San Joaquin Media Group Web site covering the music and entertainment scenes in Stockton and Modesto, Calif. He has more than a decade of journalism experience, having worked at newspapers in New York and Ohio before moving to California. Ian has served as a blogger and columnist and he has covered local government and politics, education, crime, arts, culture, music and entertainment.
A native of Western New York and a graduate of the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, Ian now lives in Stockton. Contact information can be found on the contact page.
