My fellow Web content producer Kirk Barron and I had to pick up some additional duties while my boss was on vacation this week, including moderating Recordnet.com’s user forums. This means ensuring that user comments posted in response to stories don’t violate our Terms of Service. When we find a TOS violation, we delete the comment.

I’m reading Jeff Gordinier’s (generally annoying) book “X Saves the World,” which includes the following quote from Chris Anderson’s book “The Long Tail”:
“There’s still demand for big cultural buckets, but they’re no longer the only the only market. The hits now compete with an infinite number of niche markets, of any size. And consumers are increasingly favoring the one with the most choice. The era of one-size-fits-all is ending, and in its place is something new, a market of multitudes…”
